The Sick | Slims | August, 9th 1998
This is a show we played with Everlast when he came out with his country type album (I think?) I remember him telling us about how he almost died from a heart attack and he had a new outlook on life. Slims (in SF, CA) used to record these VHS tapes from the sound booth and hand them to you at the end of the show.
Yes. That’s correct. Everlast had parted ways with House of Pain (though he still rocked Jump Around) and had just released Whitey Ford Sings the Blues. I was standing there with you guys pre show and listening to him explain how the heart attack changed his perspective on life. He was rocking this bracelet that was diamonds and gold and probably $50k. It was the Everlast logo used by the boxing ring company and it was some serious bling. He was a big dude too. Great times.
